bombs in bottles
I can tell I'm reaching my "bad news saturation point" when I'm constantly crabby in ways I cannot articulate, everything feels like One Demand Too Many, and I'm having stupid nightmares. (Last night I was trapped in some kind of large industrial tank and had to get fished out on a rope by my brother, who according to the logic of the dream world, did not actually exist.)
And, I mean...who isn't? The Toddler-in-Chief is responding to China's predictable response to the tariff news by "throwing all our toys out of the collective pram," as a friend so aptly put it. Meanwhile, the further I get into Varoufakis's "Technofeudalism," the more it worries me that we're pissing off China economically.
Also, today I learned that 100 percent of the ascorbic acid used in US food processing comes from China. Ascorbic acid is Vitamin C. The world's second most common food preservative behind salt.
WHY DO WE NOT MAKE OUR OWN ASCORBIC ACID. THIS IS ABSURD. Also, look forward to every packaged/processed food product increasing in price!
China also has every zipper factory in the world, so look forward to every clothing item with a zipper getting more expensive, too. But hey, it's not like humans need food or clothing, right?
...I'm going to go read the encyclopedia and try to calm down. I am NOT having a good day, news-wise.
